Mike Dare was born in Bristol in 1935 in the same reign as his parents.
Educated at Bristol Grammar School and Bristol University where he read
History and played too much sport!
Did his National Service as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Army
Educational Corps, serving mainly in Germany.
Married to Tessa - with two grown up children, Bridget and Patrick and
four grandchildren.
Took early retirement from teaching. Eight published poems to date.
Baptised and confirmed into the Church of England. Became a Quaker in
2000.
Interests - bridge, regional dialects, environmental issues, his family,
history, nature and walking.
