The River of Life
First meeting, getting to know.
Wondering, even doubting.
Then the commitment, the bonding
and the conjoining,
Expectation, excitement and happiness
over the anticipation of new life.
The growing, the waiting
the growing and waiting
and waiting. Anxiety.
The confinement, the pain
then the joyous birth.
In this uncertain age ( and yet is not every age uncertain ?)
the hope for a healthy
and peaceful future for all our children.
